To kickoff the release of my young adult/science fiction/ romance novel THE VANISHING SPARK OF DUSK, releasing with Entangled Teen (you can order the book here,) I’m going to do an Inside the Book series where I will go through some key places and characters to help you get to know the story better.
Meet Lark Walker.
Lark Walker is a seventeen year old girl who grew up in one of the last free Human communities on Earth. She’s shy. She’s compassionate. And she loves fiercely.
Lark’s biggest obstacle at the beginning of the story is her inability to be heard. She rarely speaks up for herself, though she desperately wants to. Lark is very much like myself at that age. Soft-spoken, and unable to break through that barrier that holds her back from speaking what’s on her mind.
But what I admire most about Lark is her character arc throughout the story. As the story progresses, and as she’s faced with many new challenges, she begins to find her courage—and her voice.
